Designated Rifleman
The Designated Rifleman course will take you or members of your group beyond what is considered "assault rifle" or battle rifle ranges and provide you with additional, fight-winning tactical capabilities. We will move from selecting the proper rifle, caliber and gear, to proper sight-in procedures, then on to the art of trigger manipulation, range estimation and marksmanship techniques. You will learn to use your rifle safely and effectively from bad-breath distances out to 500 yards and do it quickly from field positions!
The 2-day Designated Rifleman class is considered “mission specific” inasmuch as it serves a very specific purpose. However, it is not a "sniper" class and does not require special equipment except for a rifle that is more accurate and usually a little more powerful than the typical, semi-automatic battle rifle. The gear and clothing or uniform that you wear will not be much different that the rest of your team mates. While you can certainly benefit from taking this class with any scoped, centerfire rifle, we urge you to use something in the .308 class for reasons that will be explained during the course.
Shooters graduating from Designated Rifleman will bridge a huge gap between the essential basic rifleman and the highly trained, specially equipped sniper.
